A fresh leak has shed more light on Xiaomi’s upcoming 17 Max, this time focusing on its camera setup and possible launch timeframe.
Earlier this month, reports surfaced about the phone’s battery size and chipset. Now, tipster Digital Chat Station has shared additional information, claiming that the Xiaomi 17 Max will be equipped with a 200MP main camera based on Samsung’s 1/1.4″ HPx sensor. For comparison, the regular Xiaomi 17 is said to use a 50MP primary rear camera.
The leak also points to a 50MP periscope telephoto camera using a 1/1.95″ Sony IMX8‑series sensor, alongside a second 50MP module for ultrawide shots. This would give the 17 Max a triple‑camera system with three high‑resolution sensors.
According to DCS, Xiaomi is expected to introduce the 17 Max sometime in the second quarter of this year. The phone should also carry over the Leica imaging features already seen on the rest of the Xiaomi 17 series, keeping consistency across the lineup.
Previous rumours suggested that the 17 Max will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. It’s also tipped to include a large 8,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Design‑wise, it’s expected to stay close to the standard Xiaomi 17, differing mainly in size, battery capacity, and camera hardware.
As always, these details are based on leaks and could still change before launch, but the 17 Max is shaping up to be the battery‑focused, camera‑centric big sibling in the Xiaomi 17 family.
