Realme officially announced the availability of the GT 8 series. On October 21, 3:00 PM local time, the Chinese launch will take place. Aside from the release date, Realme also teased some impressive specifications.
The teaser only mentions the GT 8 Pro, so we don’t know which features will carry over to the vanilla GT 8. A larger battery, faster charging, and slimmer, lighter packaging are expected with the Pro.
The GT 8 Pro’s battery will be upgraded from 6,500 mAh to 7,000 mAh while maintaining its 120W wired charging speed. The GT 8 Pro also features fast wireless charging at 50W and reverse wireless charging at 10W. The device also supports bypass charging.
The GT 8 Pro can also be charged using other nonproprietary charging standards, according to Realme. As an example, the Pro supports 50W PPS PD, 44W UFCS, and 36W PD.
Despite a bigger battery and a wireless charging coil, the phone is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, weighing 214 grams and measuring 8.2mm thick.
Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor will power the GT 8 Pro for performance.
This chipset will be paired with a specially designed R1 gaming display chip. Realme has used a similar chip before, but this time it’s more capable. It can render QHD resolution and boost the frame rate simultaneously, allowing you to play games at QHD and utilise the 144Hz refresh rate display. According to the manufacturer, the chip is optimised for certain games and supports high-refresh-rate gaming in titles such as Valorant Mobile, Delta Action, and Arena Breakout.
