In China, Vivo just started beta testing OriginOS 6 on the Vivo X200 Pro and iQOO 13. It is anticipated that the new Android skin would significantly improve upon OriginOS 5, which was released last year. The latest Vivo X300 series will come with OriginOS 6 preloaded, with a formal debut scheduled for this month in China. Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao gave a preview of OriginOS 6’s design features in a Weibo post today.

According to Boxiao, OriginOS 6 offers a significant design enhancement based on the company’s atomic design approach. To provide a more pleasant and natural user experience, the update presents the idea of “Light & Shadow Space,” which emphasises improved light-shadow effects and a greater feeling of spatial order.

Along with new charging animations, a revamped control centre, and customisable lock screen clocks, the system also has interface improvements targeted at improving visual harmony.

OriginOS 6 will debut on the next Vivo X300 series, Boxiao revealed, adding that the team has also worked on significant enhancements in long-term fluidity, heavy-load handling, and operating smoothness. “With this release, Vivo aims to deliver the best version of OriginOS ever, designed to meet user expectations,” he continued.
For Vivo and iQOO phones, OriginOS is limited to the Chinese market; international variants still use Funtouch OS. Vivo may soon introduce OriginOS to smartphones worldwide, according to several rumours. But as of yet, no formal confirmation has been made. Whether the Vivo X300 series will launch internationally with OriginOS 6 or Funtouch OS 16 is still up in the air.
