Apple’s plans to introduce the iPhone 17 family with price increases have come up a few times recently. Things don’t appear to be as bad as they first appeared, according to a fresh research note released by JPMorgan today.

If the aforementioned research note is correct, the iPhone 17 Pro will cost $100 more than its predecessor, but it will also come with 256GB of base storage, which is double that of the iPhone 16 Pro, which starts at 128GB. Accordingly, it will cost the same as the 256GB iPhone 16 Pro.

While the iPhone 17 Air will either cost the same ($899) as the iPhone 16 Plus it replaces or $50 higher at $949, the iPhone 17 is anticipated to launch at $799, exactly like its predecessor. Apple could attribute this to the extensive research and development required to create something so tiny. Finally, there will be no price increase at all for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which will still start at $1,199 with 256GB of storage.

The US market, to which these pricing evidently only apply, would benefit from this. However, it is unclear if price rises will occur elsewhere. The good news is that we don’t have to wait much longer to get the answer because Apple’s iPhone 17 reveal event is scheduled for September 9, which is just one week from now.
