Before the end of September, Xiaomi’s 16 and 16 Pro are anticipated to be the first smartphones to emerge with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset at the forefront.
According to a recent Chinese rumour, both of them will be sporting a brand-new, significantly improved selfie camera. It will have a broad field of view, focusing, which is uncommon in front-facing cameras, 50 MP resolution, and compatibility for 4K60 video recording.
Compared to its current lineup, Xiaomi’s next-generation flagships could have far better selfie capabilities, thanks to this, especially in low light. The Xiaomi 16 Pro will include a primary camera that supports “ultra high dynamic range” and has a ToF sensor. In contrast, the Xiaomi 16’s primary rear camera will have a 1/1.3″ type sensor with 50 MP resolution.
The Xiaomi 16 is rumoured to sport a 6.3x-inch flat OLED screen, a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP telephoto (perhaps periscope-style), and a 7,000 mAh battery.
