The rumours were accurate; the iQOO 15 will be the company’s next flagship smartphone instead of the iQOO 14. Tetraphobia is definitely to blame. The brand launched the Weibo teaser campaign for the new product today, thereby confirming the name.

Here’s the narrative twist if you’re wondering why so early—after all, the iQOO 13 was only launched in November of last year, after being announced in October. According to rumours, the iQOO 15 will be among the first smartphones to come out with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC.

On September 23, that chipset will be formally unveiled. The iQOO 15, the Xiaomi 16 series, the Honour Magic8 series, and the Realme GT 8 Pro are all reportedly rushing to debut in China before October 1st, according to Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

Furthermore, the fact that iQOO is now discussing the 15 appears to support this theory. In addition to announcing a competition in Shanghai on August 1, where winners will be awarded an iQOO 15, the brand has not yet disclosed any specifications.

The iQOO 15 is said to include a 6.85-inch QHD+ Samsung flat LTPO OLED screen, a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, and 100W wired charging capability, according to previous rumours. Wireless charging could also be available.
