Xiaomi has put an end to those wild rumours about their next OS update being called HyperOS 26—turns out it’s officially HyperOS 3, and it’ll be built on Android 16.
They dropped the news on Weibo, stating that they’ll officially showcase it at an event in China on August 28. In a separate post, Xiaomi exec Lu Weibing teased that this update is all about boosting UI smoothness and responsiveness. Not entirely clear on the details yet, but hey, we’ll find out soon enough tomorrow.
Additionally, they will be kicking off the first HyperOS 3 beta rollout immediately after the event for select devices. First in line for the beta in China: the Xiaomi 15 series, Redmi K80 Pro and Ultimate Edition, Pad 7S Pro 12.5, and the Pad 7 Pro.
