Apparently, you’ll be able to swipe or tap it to handle music playback, tweak the volume, or skip to the next song—building on Apple’s love for gestures that we’ve already seen on devices like the iPhone and Apple Watch. The case features a lanyard loop for attaching extras, and the buds themselves closely resemble the AirPods Pro 2 design.
But the real game-changers might be in the features department. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioned earlier that the AirPods Pro 3 could feature heart rate tracking, thanks to optical sensors that measure blood flow over 100 times a second when both are in your ears.
That info would beam straight to the Health app on your iPhone, giving it a big boost for workout enthusiasts. Expect additional perks, such as crisper audio, stronger noise cancellation, and more reliable connectivity, as well. They’ll likely run on a fresh H3 chip, with potentially longer battery life, and Spatial Audio, complete with head tracking, will be front and centre.
