Oppo’s upcoming Find X9 series could bring some major hardware upgrades. The next generation of Oppo flagships might have bigger camera upgrades and a faster MediaTek chip.

Digital Chat Station shared the latest details on Weibo. Based on the leak, we can expect the cameras on all Find X9 models to get a significant upgrade. The periscope telephoto shooter might benefit from this improvement. As for the top-end Find X9 Ultra, it may push the boundaries of smartphone photography. According to DCS, the Find X9 Ultra may also pack a 200MP and 50MP periscope shooter on the back, likely with different optical magnifications.

This information is based on a prototype Find X9 Ultra, which is reported to pack Samsung’s high-end ISOCELL HP5 and JN5 as its telephoto lenses. As a result, the OPPO would probably change some of the camera’s specifications. Moreover, the Find X8 Ultra’s spectral image sensor may reach the standard Find X9 and X9 Pro. Especially for skin tones, this sensor helps capture more accurate colours.

The tipster claims that two Find X9 models will feature 6.59-inch and 6.78-inch flat screens. These likely correspond to the standard Find X9 and the Find X9 Pro.

According to the leak, Oppo is abandoning its curved displays from earlier Find X8 models. The X9 line is expected to rely solely on flat panels.

It’s also unclear whether the 6.3-inch model is part of the core X9 lineup or an offshoot. With its 6.3-inch screen, the new Find X9 could either replace the Find X8s or serve as a more compact variant within the X9 lineup.

There will be four Find X9 models, but specifics beyond the screen size and design are still emerging. A natural hardware update appears to be confirmed under the hood.

In May, Digital Chat Station shared some of these details. In addition to the camera specs, the Find X9 series is expected to be powered by a Dimensity 9500 SoC, with the Ultra variant likely to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor. We have no more information at the moment, so stay tuned.
