Unsurprisingly, a recent leak from Digital Chat Station provides some early insight into what to anticipate from the OnePlus 15. The changes appear to be minimal. The tip suggests improvements in design and display, but not much else now.
Display:
The leak claims that the OnePlus 15 will have a 6.78-inch LTPO 2.5D flat screen with 1.5 K resolution, which was specially created by BOE. Although the 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO 4.1 display from the OnePlus 13 is a step down, the new panel is said to have better brightness, more consistent color tuning, and better power efficiency.
Additionally, it is said to have an “LIPO four narrow edge design.” Thanks to LIPO technology, the device will have symmetrical, ultra-narrow bezels on all four sides.
The leak also mentions a focus on lower power consumption, enhanced color consistency, and improved brightness uniformity. This type of fine-tuning is typical of annual refresh cycles.
Super Black variant:
In terms of appearance, the OnePlus 15’s engineering unit is called “SuperBlack” due to its high capacity for light absorption, which DCS claims makes it resemble a “black hole.” The claim that the OnePlus 15 will be offered in a matte black finish that reduces smudges and reflections may be a stretch.
Internally, the OnePlus 15 is anticipated to use Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chip, the SM8850, which is anticipated to be marketed as the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Although it’s unclear what they will do, the leak also claims that the phone has “custom buttons” on the side.
Although the dimensions, camera hardware, and build quality have not yet been disclosed by the leak, it is unlikely that significant changes will be made in these areas. A 6000mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and a triple 50MP camera setup are already included with the OnePlus 13. Therefore, polish rather than upgrades may be the main focus of expectations for the 15.
