With Vivo’s flagship cycle for the year over, the company will launch a foldable device next. Vivo’s naming strategy may call it the X Fold 4 or possibly the Fold 5, since the number 4 in China is often skipped due to cultural superstitions.
Digital Chat Station, a reliable leaker, claims that a new foldable will launch in Q3. Vivo is working on a foldable device, although it has not been named outright. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to power the device, according to the tipster. From the current X Fold 3’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, this will be an upgrade.
As for the successor to Vivo’s X Fold 3 Pro, there has been no mention of the Pro variant, but it could feature the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Aside from a fingerprint scanner on the side, the foldable will feature a periscope-style telephoto camera and wireless charging. It is expected that the launch will take place sometime in Q3.
The foldable will have a large AMOLED display with a high refresh rate and minimal bezels, according to a previous report. To reduce creases and improve durability, the device will also feature a sophisticated hinge design.
The X Fold 4 is reportedly equipped with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a periscope telephoto lens. In addition to the 6,000mAh battery, IPX8 water resistance is also expected.
