For months, there have been rumours that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE, also known as the Z Flip7 FE, would be a less expensive flip-style foldable that will debut in early July with the Galaxy Z Flip7. Up until now, the name has always been clear (except for the ambiguity surrounding the number 7).
According to a new report today, the Galaxy Z Flip Xe may become the name of the more reasonably priced Samsung flip-style foldable. Naturally, nothing has been proven yet, so at this time, consider this to be merely a rumour.
If this works out, we must question why Samsung chose not to use the “FE” branding, which would likely lead consumers to immediately consider this to be a less expensive option than the Flip7. Or if that was the reason for the switch? What are your thoughts? Will Samsung opt for the tried-and-true FE, or will it try new approaches and see what works?
A prior rumour suggested that the Flip Xe (or FE) would be equipped with a 12 MP primary camera, a 12 MP ultrawide lens, and a 10 MP selfie camera, all powered by the Exynos 2400e chipset. It appears to be a Flip5 with an upgraded SoC based on the cameras, but there may be additional variations as well.
