As soon as the CMF Buds 2 were announced a couple of weeks ago, they quickly rose to the top of the queue. Today marks the official launch of three different TWS buds by CMF.
CMF Buds 2 & CMF Buds Plus:
With Dirac Opteo tuning, the CMF Buds 2 have 11mm drivers. Their Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) ranges from 5,200Hz to 48dB. When the ANC is turned off, the buds can last up to 13.5 hours and the case can last up to 55 hours.
The CMF Buds 2 Plus are only $10 more than the vanilla model, but they offer meaningful improvements. The ANC is 50dB better than the Buds Pro 2 – 50dB at 5,400Hz versus 50dB at 5,000Hz. Intelligent Adaptive Mode is also available on the Plus and Pro, but not on the Buds 2.
With 12mm drivers and support for the LDAC codec, this model also promises superior audio quality.
Furthermore, the Plus buds offer the best battery life of the 2-series lineup, with up to 14 hours of playback (ANC off) and up to 61.5 hours with the case. Low-latency mode is also the lowest, although it’s not as low as 105ms (when connected to a phone running Nothing OS).
CMF Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus are dust and water-resistant to IP55. Each bud has three microphones with Wind Noise Reduction 3.0 and Clear Voice Technology 3.0.
CMF Buds 2a:
To make the CMF Buds 2a so affordable, some sacrifices are made. The drivers are 12.4mm in diameter, and they feature Dirac tuning. With older noise reduction technology, ANC can only cancel 42dB of noise and uses four microphones (two per bud).
There’s also less battery life – 8 hours with just the buds (ANC off) and 35.5 hours with the case. As a result, the water resistance drops to IP54.
Using the Nothing X app, you can adjust the EQ and Ultra Bass level, switch ANC levels, activate low-latency mode, and summon ChatGPT.
Pricing:
By the end of Q2, 2025, these will be available on Flipkart and through retail partners.
The CMF Buds 2 cost Rs.2699/-, Buds 2a at Rs.2,199 & Buds 2 Plus at Rs.3299/- in India.
