OnePlus is currently developing a new upper-midrange phone with a flagship chipset—a “flagship killer.” Ace 5V and Ace 5S Pro seem to be the two alternatives, however, it’s still unclear what this will be termed. It will be the replacement for the Ace 3V, which was released in March of last year, in any case.

MediaTek’s forthcoming Dimensity 9400+ SoC is expected to power the new device, which is said to sport a 6.83-inch “1.5K” LTPS OLED flat screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It will not have a telephoto on its back; its primary camera will be a 50 MP camera.

No one has said what “simple design” means on the back of the phone, but it will come with OnePlus’ new button, which will replace the Alert Slider. It’s still not official, but the battery could hold 7,500 mAh when charged via 80W cable, or about 7,000 mAh when charged via 100W. OnePlus hasn’t decided whether to focus on faster charging or a bigger battery.

It’s not clear when the phone will be officially released, but we think it will be within a few weeks since the last one is almost a year old.
