Samsung has begun shipping the Galaxy S25 devices, but attention is already shifting towards the next-generation flagship: the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The device is currently in the early prototyping phase, and early leaks suggest a major design change: the prototypes lack a visible selfie camera cutout, hinting that Samsung may be adopting an under-display camera for its upcoming model.

This would not be the first time Samsung has used such technology, as the company already employs an under-display camera in its Galaxy Z Fold line, where it’s used in the folding displays. However, if this rumour holds, there’s hope that the quality of the under-display camera will be significantly improved for the S26 Ultra. Otherwise, it might fall short, especially in terms of selfie quality.

That said, it’s important to note that these are still early prototypes, and a lot can change before the official launch. While there’s a possibility that this rumour is accurate, Samsung may ultimately decide to go in a different direction. Additionally, previous rumours have suggested that the S26 Ultra might be branded as the S26 Note.

In terms of specs, the S26 Ultra is expected to feature a brighter, more efficient display than its predecessor. It could also include a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera and be powered by an Exynos chipset, further solidifying its position as a premium offering in the Galaxy lineup.
