Samsung is preparing to enhance its mid-range Galaxy A-series lineup with the upcoming Galaxy A56. Known for blending sleek design with solid performance, the Galaxy A-series has built a strong following, and the A56 appears poised to carry that legacy forward. Leaked specifications and pricing hint at notable improvements over its predecessor.

Galaxy A56:

The Galaxy A56 5G sports a 6.6-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rates. It comes with optical in-display fingerprint scanner support with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The Galaxy A56 5G is powered by the new Exynos 1580 SoC coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and a 128GB/256GB storage option. There is also an option to expand the memory through a microSD card slot.

 

The new Galaxy A56 5G will feature triple-rear cameras with a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture with OIS, a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture and LED flash. The device comes with a 12MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.2.

The Galaxy A56 5G will ship with the same 5000 mAh battery but comes with 45W fast charge support. Galaxy A56 5G also gets an IP67 rating making it dust and water-resistant & Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

 

The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 5G, Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Wifi 6.0, A-GPS, NFC, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.3 USB Type-C port, FM Radio, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Samsung Galaxy A55 5G runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1 on top.

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy A56 is rumoured to be priced at £439 (approximately ₹47,200) for the base model. This aligns with the premium mid-range segment, reflecting the upgraded features. For context, the Galaxy A55 launched at ₹39,999 earlier in 2024. The A56 is expected to make its global debut in early 2025.

With substantial upgrades in charging, display, and performance, Samsung’s Galaxy A56 could solidify its place as a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market.
