Samsung is reportedly working on two exciting new devices set to make waves in the tech world. The company is rumoured to be developing a Galaxy Z Flip FE, which could serve as an affordable entry point into the foldable phone market, alongside a Galaxy Watch8 Classic, reviving the beloved “Classic” line of smartwatches.
Galaxy Z Flip FE: A Budget-Friendly Foldable?
The Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to build on the success of Samsung’s existing Z Flip series, which has redefined the modern smartphone experience with its innovative foldable design. While flagship foldables have dazzled with cutting-edge features, their high price points remain a barrier for many consumers. The Z Flip FE aims to address this by offering similar functionality at a more accessible price.
Although detailed specifications are scarce, Samsung could trim premium features, such as ultra-high-end cameras or luxury materials, to keep costs down. According to Ross Young, CEO of DSCC, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE is anticipated to feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ LTPO AMOLED folding display. This panel is expected to deliver a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, a crisp pixel density of 426 ppi, and an impressive peak brightness of 2,600 nits.
It remains uncertain whether the Galaxy Z Flip FE will inherit its cover screen design from the Flip6 or introduce a new variation. If it retains the same specs, the cover screen is likely to feature a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 748×700 pixels, shielded by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for added durability.
Galaxy Watch8 Classic: A Return to Tradition
In addition to foldable phones, Samsung appears to be reviving its “Classic” branding for smartwatches. The upcoming Galaxy Watch8 Classic is expected to embrace a more traditional design, appealing to those who prefer the timeless look of analogue watches while retaining the advanced features of a modern smartwatch.
The “Classic” label was last seen on the Galaxy Watch4 Classic, which featured a sleek design and rotating bezel—a fan-favourite feature that Samsung may bring back. While the exact features of the Watch8 Classic remain under wraps, it is likely to focus on health tracking, fitness capabilities, and seamless integration with Samsung’s ecosystem.
