Apple has an exciting lineup of launches planned for 2025, and Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter provides a glimpse into what to expect. The year is set to kick off with the introduction of new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models, codenamed J713 and J715. These laptops are reportedly already in production and will be powered by Apple’s latest M4 chip.
Next on the calendar is the iPhone SE, anticipated for a spring 2025 release. With a starting price of $429, this model is expected to be the most affordable iPhone equipped with Apple Intelligence. It will feature a design similar to the iPhone 14, alongside the powerful A18 chipset and Apple’s proprietary modem technology.
New iPads and iPhone 17 Air on the Horizon
Apple is also gearing up to refresh its iPad lineup this year. Two entry-level iPads, internally labelled as J481 and J482, are expected to feature the A17 Pro chip and 8GB of RAM, matching the performance of the latest iPad mini. These upgraded specifications will enable seamless Apple Intelligence integration.
The iPad Air is also getting an update, with four new models in the works (J607, J608, J637, and J638). These will likely include the cutting-edge M4 chip and retain the familiar design of last year’s 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Airs.
In the smartphone segment, the fall season will see the debut of the iPhone 17 lineup. This includes the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the innovative iPhone 17 Air. The Air is rumoured to have a remarkably slim profile, measuring just 5.5mm at its thinnest point—over 2mm thinner than its predecessors, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. It will feature a base-level A19 chip and a single rear camera, offering a sleek and minimalist design.
Apple’s Smart Home Hub
Adding to the excitement is Apple’s smart home hub, set to debut in March. This device will include a 7-inch touchscreen designed to streamline household management, support apps, and facilitate video calls. The hub can function as a countertop gadget or be mounted on a wall, though availability may remain limited initially.
