The Galaxy S25 Slim was first reported last week, and it’s expected to be a slimmer version of the Galaxy S25. The leaker has now hinted at an upgrade to the camera instead of some sacrifices associated with a thinner design.
According to Ice Universe on X, the Galaxy S25 Slim will have an “Ultra” camera. However, this claim was not elaborated upon by the leaker.
There’s no immediate meaning to “Ultra” camera, but one of the most obvious guesses is that Slim will gain a 200MP main camera like S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra. As with the Z Fold 6, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has a 200MP primary camera instead of the Z Fold 6’s 50MP. The use of such a high-resolution camera outside the Ultra line is certainly precedent.
The Galaxy S25 Slim specifications have yet to be confirmed, according to fellow leaker Jukanlosreve. As a result, it’s entirely possible we won’t see a 200MP main camera. The new phone will, however, have Samsung’s 200MP main camera, so we hope they can fix shutter lag if this is the case.
According to reports, the Galaxy S25 Slim will launch in Q2 2025, several months after the mainline S25 phones. The thinner flagship is likely to be delayed for a while.
