It is reported that iQOO is working on the iQOO Z9 series of smartphones for multiple markets, including China. Initially, it may be launched in the Chinese market in Q1 of this year. The specifications of the alleged iQOO Z9 have been leaked ahead of the expected launch in China, according to tipster Digital Chat Station.

DCS said that a Z-branded phone would have an OLED panel with 1.5K resolution, without specifying the name of the phone. It features a 6.64-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, which is a major upgrade. The iQOO Z9 seems to be the device he is referring to, but neither its display size nor refresh rate is mentioned.

Furthermore, he revealed that the Z-series phone will use the Snapdragon SM7550 chip. As indicated by the model number, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset will be used. Vivo S18 and Honor 100 in the Chinese market use the same chip.

Previously, the Z9 was said to be tested with the Density 8300 chipset, but the new leak contradicts that claim. It is possible that the iQOO Z9 Pro could be branded as the Z9 model with the D8300 chipset. You should take this information with a grain of salt since it’s purely speculative.

In addition, DCS claims that the iQOO Z9 has a 6,000mAh battery. Fast-charging capabilities are not mentioned.

An iQOO Z9 5G phone with model number I2309 is in the works for India and possibly other markets. As of now, it is unclear whether the Chinese edition will also be available in the US.
