Samsung teased its Galaxy Ring tracker as part of its “One More Thing” teaser at its Galaxy Unpacked event. Tech analyst Avi Greengart shared some more details based on early access to a prototype Galaxy Ring at the event.

With a diameter of 22.2mm, the wearable is remarkably light and comes in a variety of sizes. The Galaxy Ring will be available in 3 material finishes later this year. Pogo pins can be found on the inside of the Galaxy Ring teaser images, alongside heart rate monitoring, SpO2 monitoring, sleep tracking, and stress monitoring.

The Galaxy Ring could debut in Q3 2024, according to earlier rumors, but Samsung has not released any official launch details.

What did Samsung say about the Galaxy Ring? The company describes it as a “cutting-edge” device and as “a powerful and accessible health and wellness device here to change the shape of future health as only Samsung can.” Samsung Research clinical research scientist Matthew Wiggins announced the device.

The Galaxy Ring’s teaser suggests that it could be black. The Galaxy Ring’s technical details and availability will be announced later this year by Samsung. The smart ring will compete with Evie and Oura.

During the second Galaxy Unpacked event this year, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldable phones. The Galaxy Ring may go official with the new foldable.

According to previous reports, the Galaxy Ring may support EKG and smart home controls. Samsung’s first smart ring will support tracking, measuring, monitoring, and uploading health, fitness, and sleep-related information, according to a patent filing seen in February 2023. Samsung may also include AI features in its first smart ring.
