MediaTek became the first to develop the world’s first 3nm chipset based on the TSMC process.

TSMC’s 3nm process technology has enabled MediaTek to develop its first 3nm chipset. As a member of the flagship Dimensity series, the new 3nm chipset will debut next year. Only TSMC’s 3nm process is mentioned in the press release, which offers substantial improvements over the outgoing 5nm N5 process.

The new 3nm process from TSMC is 18% faster while drawing the same amount of power. Additionally, it offers a 60% increase in logic density while reducing power by 32% at the same speed. From H2 2024, MediaTek will launch 3nm chips for smartphones, tablets, intelligent cars, and other devices based on TSMC’s process technology.
