Jio AirFiber details:

Jio AirFiber is a Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) device that promises 5G internet speeds. In India, it will compete with Airtel Xstream AirFiber. Jio’s AirFiber will use the existing 5G network and wireless technology to provide high-speed connectivity without optical fibers. There are multiple LAN ports and Wi-Fi 6 standard on the hardware.

The Jio Fiber service will also include 550+ digital TV channels and OTT apps. As part of the offer, Jio will provide users with a 4K Smart Set Top Box and voice-activated remote for free.

Plug-and-play is a wireless router that can be used as a regular router without wires. Unlike traditional routers, this device does not require an optical cable connection and requires only an AC plug point. As soon as the device is connected, users can set it up using the Jio app, which offers a variety of customization options.  Within the same floor, Jio AirFiber can cover up to 100 square feet.

Plans:

Starting today, Jio AirFiber will be available in 8 cities across India. In addition to Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, the service will be available in Pune, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

The devices are free, but the installation fee is Rs. 1000, which is waived with a 12-month plan. According to Jio, JioAirFiber Max will only be available in select areas.
