Xiaomi announced the Redmi 12 smartphone. It is a follow-up to last year’s Redmi 11 and is already available in Thailand.

Redmi 12:

The phone will have a plastic body and frame. It measures 8.17mm thick and weighs about 199 grams. Redmi 12 will come with a 5000mAh battery and 18W fast charging support out of the box. There will be a USB Type-C port on the phone, as well as a dual-SIM card slot.

In the front, the phone is said to feature a tall 6.79-inch IPS LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 2460×1080 pixels. It will have a pixel density of 396 PPI and will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

It will support a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Based on the content displayed on the screen, Xiaomi’s AdaptiveSync refresh rate technology will be used to switch between 30, 48, 60 or 90Hz.

The device will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC coupled with 4GB/8GB with 128GB/256GB of storage. The microSD card slot will allow users to expand storage up to 1TB. The Redmi 12 is available in Midnight Black, Sky Blue, and Polar Silver.

There are three cameras on the back of the device. Redmi 12’s primary camera sensor is likely to be a 50MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.8. Other sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro. Based on the leaked camera specs, the Redmi 12 offers a reasonably versatile camera setup for the price. It will have an 8MP front camera with an f/2.5 aperture for selfies.

Among its features will be dual speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
