Vivo’s X Fold2 and X Flip are the latest contenders in the foldable phone market. Vivo’s second-generation horizontal folding phone features a reworked hinge mechanism, the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, new cameras, and 120W wired charging.

Vivo X Fold2:

The new Vivo X Fold2 will sport a massive 8.03 inches internal QHD+ (2,160 x 1,916p) LTPO 3.0 display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There are secondary 6.53 inches FHD+ AMOLED (2,520 x 1,080 pixels) E6 curved displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with in-display fingerprint support on both the inner as well as outer display. According to Vivo, the brightness will reach 1800 nits, which is extremely bright, even if this is the peak brightness. It is reported to measure 161.3×73.4×13mm (6-6.7mm when unfolded) and weigh 280 grams.

The new Vivo X Fold2 is now powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage space. The device features triple-rear cameras with  Zeiss branding and T* coating. It comes with a 50MP main Sony  IMX866V sensor, OIS coupled with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. There is a 12MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, 60x zoom & OIS support. Both the internal as well as external display features a 16MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole notch.

Vivo’s self-developed V2 image chip powers the camera system, providing improved HDR and noise reduction. With Zeiss Cinematic mode, the X Fold2 can record up to 8K video at 30 frames per second.

The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and 5G (Dual-Mode support), A-GPS, GPS, GLONASS, Dual Band Wifi/Wifi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C port.

The Vivo X Fold2 will pack a 4800 mAh battery with 120W fast wired & 50W wireless charging support. It runs on Android 13 OS with Origin Ocean OS on top.

There are two versions of the vivo X Fold2 available – a 12/256GB model for CNY 8,999 (Rs.1,07,600/-) and a 12/512GB version for CNY 9,999 (Rs.1,19,500/-).

Vivo X Flip:

The new Vivo X Flip looks exactly similar to any other foldable flip phone out there. The Galaxy Z Flip and Moto RAZR 2022 are obvious rivals, and this one stands out for its large 3.0″ cover display (a 60Hz OLED panel, 382 x 720px). There are many uses for this – from taking selfies to showing QR codes to checking the weather to changing some settings.

 

It comes with a 6.74 inches foldable FHD+(2520 × 1080p) AMOLED display on the inside with 120Hz refresh rate support. The display is protected by UTG ultra-thin glass on the inner & Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the rear display. It measures 8.2 mm when unfolded and 16.02 when folded. It weighs 200g.

The new Vivo X Flip comes with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage.

The new Vivo X Flip comes with dual rear cameras with a 50MP Sony IMX866V sensor with f/1.8 aperture, OIS and 12MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture & 112-degrees FoV. There is a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie shooter. Other features include dual SIM, 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, and IPX4.

The Vivo X Flip packs a 4400 mAh battery with 44W fast charge support. It runs on Android 13 with FunTouch OS 13 on top.

Vivo X Flip starts at CNY 5,999 (Rs.71,800/-) for the 12GB/256GB model and goes up to CNY 6,699 (Rs.80,000/-) for the 12GB/512GB model.
