It has been a long time coming, but the Poco F5 is finally here. There have been teasings about the brand’s arrival from its Indian head. It has been announced officially today what chipset this phone uses.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon India Twitter account revealed that the upcoming Poco F5 will be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 SoC. This will be the first smartphone with this chip in the country.

Our knowledge of the Poco F5’s chipset is already complete. We know almost everything about it. For global markets, the device is nothing more than a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo.

Only the handset’s price and availability are unknown. As we approach the official launch, even these details may leak.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo:

The new POCO F5 will sport 6.67 inches FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a peak brightness of 900 nits and supports 12-bit colors, Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HDR10+. The device measures 7.9mm thick and weighs 181g.

POCO F5 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC. It is coupled with 8GB/12GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 3.1 storage space.

The POCO F5 will feature a 64MP main sensor (f/1.88) with OIS support. It is coupled with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensors. It features a 16MP selfie shooter. Sadly, the device still comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner & also got X-axis haptic motor.

The connectivity options include dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, a USB-C port, a linear motor, dual stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The POCO F5 packs 5000 mAh batteries with 67W fast charge support. It runs on Android 13 with MIUI 14 on top.
