Looks like we have to wait a bit longer to experience the higher refresh rate support on the non-Pro variant of the iPhone. Previously we saw various reports hinting about Apple’s plans to again ditch the ProMotion display support on iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 Plus this year. Now we have a new report which reveals when exactly the new ProMotion display support will be arriving on the non-Pro iPhone models.

As per the tipster Ross, the new iPhones coming out in 2025 probably iPhone 17 series will be the first to get higher-refresh rate support along with an LTPO display. Yes, the source confirmed that all models will get the new ProMotion display support with low-power LTPO display right from 2025.

The new 120Hz refresh rate support with LTPO display arrived with iPhone 13 Pro even after two years of debut the base models still lack this feature. Further, the iPhone 13 Pro models can jump to a 10Hz refresh rate and go up to 120Hz & the latest iPhone 14 Pro models can go down to 1Hz. This feature will also work when the screen is locked so that the AoD feature works flawlessly.

So basically the new iPhone 17 & iPhone 17 Plus will finally get the ProMotion display and Alway-on Display support. Further, the iPhone 17 Pro series will also get the much-needed under-display camera support with hidden FaceID.
