LAVA Agni 5G

The Agni 5G was launched by Indian manufacturer Lava in November 2021. We now have an early peek at the hardware specifications of its successor, thanks to our tipster Paras Guglani.

Currently, we are unable to confirm the existence of a ‘Pro’ version of the Agni 2 5G. Taking on the long list of 5G phones currently available, it will be positioned as a midrange flagship.

Specs:

Lava’s upcoming smartphone will have a 6.5-inch HD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. In addition to this, the device will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 octa-core SoC, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage (expandable via microSD). There is a USB Type-C port, and a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging capability.

It is also being reported that the rear camera will have triple lenses, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and OIS. This may or may not be included, however. The leaker also revealed that Lava Agni 2 5G will have a 16-megapixel selfie camera and a fingerprint scanner mounted on its side.

Launch & Pricing:

Lava is expected to unveil its latest 5G mid-ranger by mid-March or April this year, so we won’t have to wait long for more details. Based on the current crop of Dimensity 1080 phones, we expect the Agni 2 5G or its Pro sibling to cost between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000.
