Looks like we finally got the mystery solved for the older Honor phones who are still waiting for an official software update. In the past, Huawei had already sold its entity Honor which is now an independent brand. After almost a year Huawei has announced that it will now provide software updates to some of the Honor devices launched in the past.
Honor Finland now confirmed that all devices that are announced after April 2021 will get software updates directly from Honor. So Honor 50 series will get updates directly from Honor and older Honor 30 or Honor 20 series from Huawei.
Further, Honor Finland has also promised to support the older Honor phones as much as possible. Later, Huawei has officially revealed that they will continue supporting older Honor phones and also unveiled the devices list. Huawei confirmed that high-end Honor devices with monthly updates and more affordable devices on a quarterly basis.

The list of phones includes Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor View 20, Honor 30, Honor 30 Pro+, Honor 30i, Honor 30S, Honor View 30 Pro. Further, the Honor 20e, Honor 20i, Honor 20S, Honor 20 Lite, Honor 10i, Honor 9A, Honor 9C, Honor 9S, Honor 8A, Honor 8S, Honor 8S Pro, Honor 10X, Honor 10X Lite, Honor 9X Pro, and Honor 9X Lite.
The brand also mentioned that they may or may not receive any major Android updates but will get monthly security patches.
