Looks like Qualcomm is working on a more powerful version of the flagship chipset SD888 SoC. Yes, the popular Chinese tipster has just leaked that Qualcomm may announce the SD888 Pro aka the overclocked version of SD888 SoC later this year. This is not the first time Qualcomm launching two flagship chipset in a year last year too launched the Plus version of SD865 SoC.
As per the source, Qualcomm is currently working on the new SD888 Pro SoC which is rumored to be used by some of the Chinese smartphone manufacturers only. Yes, the tipster confirmed that the SD888 Pro SoC will be exclusive to China as of now. Further, the SD888 Pro-powered smartphones will be landing by the second half of 2021 or Q3 of 2021.
So with SD888 Pro is on the way we can expect more Chinese brands to announce their next flagship in the coming months. Lastly, the source also revealed the specs of the SD888 Pro SoC which is nothing sort of impressive when compared with the original.
The new SD888 Pro SoC will come with the same Cortex X1 core which is now overclocked to a higher clock speed. Apart from this, all other cores will remain the same as found on the SD888 SoC. There is also no boost in GPU performance on the new SD888 Pro SoC this year.
