Huawei Mate X2

Huawei finally launched its third foldable flagship with Huawei Mate X2 in China. The  HUAWEI Mate X2 comes in Black, White, Crystal Blue and Crystal Pink colours. It will go on sale in China from Feb 25. No word about the Global launch and availability.

The Huawei Mate X2 will take inspiration from Samsung’s popular Galaxy Z Fold 2 as it comes inward folding display. This time probably Huawei has taken the build too seriously and launched its foldable smartphone with a more compact design. The new Huawei Mate X2 will feature magnetron nano-optical film with a new hinge which is made of fibre & steel. The Huawei Mate X2 wedge is the thinnest part of the phone with just 4.4 mm thick.

The new Huawei Mate X2 will sports an outer display of 6.45 inches QHD+ OLED curved pill-shaped notched flat display with a resolution of 2700*1160p. The inner display is 8 inches QHD+ with a resolution of 2480*2200p with an 8:7.1 aspect ratio. Both the inner and outer display comes with a 90Hz refresh rate. It measures 14.7 mm (folded) and 8.1 mm (unfolded) thick and weighs over 295g.

Processor:

The new Huawei Mate X2 indeed comes with Kirin 9000 SoC which is a 5nm octa-core processor that comes with one Cortex A77 high-performance core clocked at 3.13 GHz coupled with three Cortex A77 cores clocked at lower 2.54GHz and remaining four Cortex A55 cores clocked at 2.04GHz. The Kirin 9000 SoC comes with Mali G78 GPU with a built-in 5G modem. It comes in two variants with 8GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage options.

The new Huawei Mate X2 comes with quad-rear cameras with a 50MP main Sony RYYB sensor with an aperture of f/1.9 coupled with 16MP f/2.2 aperture ultra-wide sensor with free form tech along with a 12MP telephoto lens with f/3.4 aperture 3x optical zoom and 8MP periscopic lens with 10x optical zoom with OIS along with LED flash.

The new Huawei Mate X2 can shoot 8K videos at 30fps. The Huawei Mate X2 features 16MP main selfie shooter with f/2.4 aperture and a 3D ToF sensor.

Battery & Connectivity:

All this is packed by a larger 4500 mAh battery with 55W SuperCharge support. The other connectivity options include Dual SIM with 4G LTE, 5G support, Wifi-6, Dual Frequency GPS, GLONASS, A-GPS, NFC, Stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C port and in-display fingerprint scanner. It runs on Android 11 with EMUI 11 on top and comes without support for Google apps in Europe.

Pricing:

The  Huawei Mate X2 with 8GB+256GB cost 17,999 yuan (Rs.2,01,700/-) and with 8GB+512GB at whopping 18,999 yuan (Rs.2,12,970/-) in China.
