Xiaomi is all set to launch the successor to its popular tablet aka Mi Pad 4 with the new Mi Pad 5 soon. Previously we saw raise in tablet shipment due to ongoing lockdown which made the tablet market back alive for a huge amount of media consumption. Now Xiaomi is also looking to expand its tablet lineup with the new Mi Pad 5.
As per the source, Xiaomi is back into the tablet segment after a long break of two years with the new Mi Pad 5. The alleged Mi Pad 5 will be launching later this year in China and comes with some interesting specs. The new Mi Pad 5 will feature Mi 11 like the design on the back with dual-cameras setup and LED flash. There is also huge Xiaomi branding on the back.
On the front, the Mi Pad 5 still features a thick bezels-covered display without any hole or notch. Anyway, the new Mi Pad 5 will sport a QHD+ IPS LCD display with 144Hz refresh rate support and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The Mi Pad 5 will measure 8.13 mm thick and weighs over 510g. It is made out of aluminum back similar to iPads and comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Mi Pad 5 will be powered by new SD870 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB storage options. Looks like Xiaomi is bundling storage similar to Apple’s iPad lineup which sounds fishy.
Further, the Mi Pad 5 will feature a 20MP main Sony IMX586 sensor coupled with a 13MP wide-angle macro lens with LED flash. It features 30X digital zoom and 5x optical zoom under the macro lens.
For connectivity, the Mi Pad 5 ships with 5G support, Wifi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 with a USB Type-C port. The Mi Pad 5 packs a huge 10,000 mAh battery with 55W fast charging support. It runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12 on top.
Lastly, the source also revealed the pricing details of the new Mi Pad 5. The new Mi Pad 5 with 8GB+128GB cost 3999 Yuan (Rs.45,700/-), 8GB+256GB at 4299 Yuan (Rs.49,300/-), 12GB+512GB at 4999 Yuan (Rs.57,100/-) and 12GB+1TB at 5499 Yuan (Rs.63,000/-) in China.
