After Jio partnering with Google and plans to launch the cheapest 5G Android phone soon. We even got reports about Jio planning to introduce its cheapest Android smartphone later this year. Now Airtel too jumping into the race and might soon launch its cheapest 4G phone in India soon.
As per the reports, Airtel India is looking out for two types of 4G devices with Locked and Unlocked devices. The new Airtel affordable 4G phones will be manufactured by some of the Indian brands which will also come bundled with 4G plans. So probably we will see the rise in affordable smartphones in India similar to the US where the carrier-locked iPhones are trending.
Under such cases, one has to not pay the complete cost of the device instead pay the subsidized cost on monthly basis. Anyway, this is not the first time, in the past, Airtel and Celkon had partnered similar deal and the same is looking to expand soon.
