Finally, we came to an end for the leaks of the next flagship killer smartphone aka OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro which are official now. The new OnePlus 8 will be available in Onyx Black and Glacial Green, and Interstellar Glow colours whereas the OnePlus 8 Pro will be available in three colours with Onyx Black, Glacial Green, and Ultramarine Blue. The new OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro will go on sale from 21st April in Europe and 29th April in the US.
The new OnePlus 8 with 8GB+128GB cost $699 (Rs.53,200/-), 12GB+256GB at $799 (Rs.60,700/-) and the OnePlus 8 Pro with 8GB+128GB at $899 (Rs.68,300/-), and 12GB+256GB at $999 (Rs.75,900/-). Sadly OnePlus didn’t announce the cheaper OnePlus 8 Lite aka OnePlus Z at the event. No word on pricing and availability details for India but will be exclusive to Amazon.
The OnePlus 8 Pro measures 8.5 mm whereas the OnePlus 8 with 8 mm thick. The OnePlus 8 Pro weighs 199g and OnePlus 8 with 180g. Both the devices look identical to each other and only difference is the additional camera on the Pro variant. The punch-hole notch measures just 3.8 mm.
The new OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro will sport 6.55 inches FHD+ (90Hz refresh rates) and 6.7 inches QHD+ (120Hz refresh rates) Super AMOLED with Always-on display. Both the devices are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on top and come with HDR 10+ support. he OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro is powered by SD865 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage option.
The new OnePlus 8 features triple rear cameras with 48 MP main Sony IMX586 sensor with an aperture of f/1.75, 16MP ultra-wide f/2.2 aperture, 116-degrees FOV and 2MP macro sensor with PDAF LED flash.
The new OnePlus 8 Pro will feature quad-rear cameras with 48MP Sony IMX689 f/1.79 main sensor with 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, Ultra-wide angle lens with 120-degree FOV, 8MP telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture with 5MP recording additional colour data. It also comes with Laser AF, flicker detects sensor and front RGB sensor.
There is 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie shooter on the new OnePlus 8 (f/2.4) & OnePlus 8 Pro (f/2.2). Both the devices do support 4K video recording at 30/60 fps. The OnePlus 8 Pro also comes with IP68 rating whereas the OnePlus 8 misses. All this packs 4300 mAh on the OnePlus 8 with 30W fast charging and 4510 mAh on the OnePlus 8 Pro with 30W fast wired and 30W wireless and 5W reverse charging support.
The connectivity option includes Wifi 6, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, Dual SIM with 4G LTE and 5G support, USB Type-C port and in-display fingerprint scanner. Both the devices do feature stereo dual firing speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
