Earlier last week Samsung showcased the first foldable display which they call as the Infinity Flex display. Apart from the demo, nothing much about the display nor the smartphone was revealed. Post-event few journalists took some time to question the Samsung Mobile Head DJ Koh who revealed a few more details about the upcoming foldable smartphone.

As per DJ Koh, the Samsung Electronics will produce nearly 1 Million foldable smartphones for the first lot. Sadly, he did reveal the exact launch date of the foldable smartphone but confirmed that it will launch by the first half of 2019.

He further stated that Samsung generally makes 1 million smartphones for any flagship model and the same will follow with the foldable smartphone whose initial lot will be of 1 million units and if they get a positive response from the customer will produce more.

DJ Koh also stated that the new Infinity Flex display has already passed through several obstacles and is ready to use. Further, DJ Koh also revealed that they had met Google CEO Sundar Pichai two months back to collaborate with the Foldable smartphone UX aka One UI.

He also confirmed that along with S & Note series the foldable smartphone series will be launched every year but will be exclusive to select markets like the US and South Korea and currently there is no official name for the foldable smartphone yet.
