Google finally raises the curtain from the new Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL today. After a series of leaks and rumors about the new Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL which turned out to be true. Anyway, the new Google Pixel 3 will be available in two variants with 64GB at $800/€860 (Rs.60,000/- or 73,300/-) and 128GB at $900/€960 (Rs.66,700/- or Rs.81,900/-) whereas the Google Pixel 3 XL in 64GB at €960/$900 (Rs.66,700/- or Rs.81,900/-) and 128GB at €1,060 (Rs.90,100/-). Both the Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL will be available in three colors with Just Black, Clear White, and Not Pink and will go on sale from November 2.
In India, the new Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3XL will be exclusive to Flipkart and will also go on sale through all leading offline retail outlets. Both the devices are up on pre-orders from 11 Oct through Flipkart and will go on sale from November 1 across India. The new Pixel 3 with 64GBpriced at Rs.71,000/- whereas 128GB at Rs.80,000/-. The Pixel 3 XL is priced at Rs.83000/- for 64GB and Rs.92,000/- for 128GB.
The launch offer includes Rs.5000/- flat off on HDFC Credit or Debit card users, Extra Rs.4000/- off on exchange with old device, 50% Buyback value within 12 months when upgraded to new Pixel and No Cost EMI.
The new Pixel 3 is nothing but the Pixel 2 XL with updated specs whereas the new Pixel 3XL comes with display notch. Sadly, this year Pixel 3 disappoints us due to same old 18:9 aspect ratio display with thicker bezels covering the display. The new Pixel 3 XL comes with the larger display with iPhone X like a notch.
The new Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL is made out of glass and Aluminium frame on the back which weighs around 148 grams & 184 grams respectively. Both Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL is 7.9 mm thick. The new Google Pixel 3 sports same 5.5 inches FHD+ P-OLED (1,080 x 2,160px) display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Google Pixel 3 XL comes with larger 6.3 inches QHD+ display with a resolution of 1440 x 2960p and aspect ratio of 18.5:9.
Both the devices are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top along with HDR support. It also comes with AlwaysOn display which shows the currently playing song along with song history. The new Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL comes with SD845 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage option. It doesn’t support microSD cards.
On the back, we have a just single camera with 12.2MP optically stabilized image sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and 1.4µm pixels along with LED flash. The new Pixel 3 does come with Top Shot feature along with HDR+. The Top Shot is an AI feature which detects everyone on the picture is smiling, focus and with eyes open. It automatically selects the best shot and saves it on the gallery.
There is another mode with Photobooth which basically capture the image once user smiles or make weird faces. Another feature is Super Res Zoom which uses AI to capture more details while zooming as it lacks the secondary telephoto lens. The rear camera can still record 4K videos at 30fps with new Fused Video features that promise stable video while jogging or walking which works best 4K video at 30fps. The last AI feature is Night Sight which is basically for low-light capture without LED flash which will be added later.
The new Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL becomes the first device to feature Dual Selfie camera with Dual 8MP sensor one having 97 degrees wide angle lens with f/2.2 Fixed focus aperture while the other standard 75-degree lens with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. It also features Digital Stabilisation.
The new Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL arrive with front-firing stereo speakers and does include the premium Pixel USB-C headphones within the retail package for the first time. The Pixel USB-C headphones do come with Google Assistant support with real-time translation and Voice commands. Google is also bundling the USB-C to 3.5 mm audio connector.
The connectivity option includes Single SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C Port, and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The new Pixel 3 is now dust and water resistant with IP68 certified. The new Pixel 3 ships with Android 9 Pie out of the box along with 2915 mAh lower capacity battery with QC 4+ support along with Wireless charing support through Pixel Stand. It does come with 18W fast charger within the box.
