Huawei finally raises the curtain from the new Huawei Mate 20 & Mate 20 Pro today in London. Earlier we saw numerous leaks and rumors about the new Huawei Mate 20 & Mate 20 Pro. The new Huawei Mate 20 & Mate 20 Pro will ship in five colors with Emerald Green, Midnight Blue, Twilight, Black and Pink Gold Colors.
The new Huawei Mate 20 Pro is priced at €1,049 (Rs.89,200/-), Huawei Mate 20 at €849 (Rs.72,200/-) and Huawei Mate 20X at €899 (Rs.76,400/-). The new Huawei Mate 20 has already gone on sale whereas the new Huawei Mate 20 Pro & Huawei Mate 20X will go on sale from Oct 26 in Europe.
Huawei Mate 20:
Let’s start with the younger brother with Huawei Mate 20. The new Huawei Mate 20 comes with the Eight-edge curved Glass back with Huawei’s own hyper-optical pattern which makes the device back less slippery and is less prone to fingerprints. The new Huawei Mate 20 measures 158.2 x 77.2 x 8.3 mm and weighs 188 grams.
The Huawei Mate 20 sports 6.53 inches larger FHD+ Flat LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. It features the new Dew Drop display with a tiny notch. The new Huawei Mate 20 will ship the latest Kirin 980 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The storage can further be expanded up to 256GB via nanoSD card made by Toshiba.
The new Huawei Mate 20 features triple rear cameras with the main sensor of 12MP having an aperture of f/1.8 with 27mm wide angle lens, a secondary ultra-wide lens 16MP camera with an aperture of f/2.2, 17mm wide angle lens and the third telephoto lens with 8MP having an aperture of f/2.4 with 52mm wide angle lens along with OIS and 2x Optical Zoom. There is 24MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0 which also doubles up as 2D face recognition tech.
The new Huawei Mate 20 does come with AI features for the rear camera like scene detection identifying various monuments etc. The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Dual Band Wifi, NFC, MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm audio jack and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Sadly, there is no stereo speakers nor waterproofing.
The Huawei Mate 20 will ship with 4000 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support and no wireless charging support. It runs on Android 9 Pie with latest EMUI 9.0 on top. With new EMUI 9.0, it ships with GPU Turbo 2.0 which further enhances the gaming experience even more smoother.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro:
The second on the list is the more powerful with Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The new Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with the Eight-edge curved Glass back with Huawei’s own hyper-optical pattern which makes the device back less slippery and is less prone to fingerprints. The new Huawei Mate 20 Pro measures 157.8 x 72.3 x 8.6 mm and weighs 189 grams.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro sports 6.39 inches larger QHD+ Flat LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It features the wider notch similar to iPhone X due to the presence of 3D facial recognition. The new Huawei Mate 20 Pro will ship the latest Kirin 980 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The storage can further be expanded up to 256GB via nanoSD card made by Toshiba.
