IGTV

World’s popular photo and video sharing app Instagram has now reached 1 Billion daily users. With such a large user base Instagram has now announced a new service called the IGTV which is basically a video sharing app and allow creators to make content and publish it on their platform similar to YouTube but here videos are only vertical so that it can be easily viewed on your mobile.

The IGTV can also be viewed directly from Instagram App and also have a dedicated app where one can create channels and upload videos up to an hour (only for verified users or celebrity). The video must have fullscreen and vertical so that one can view it directly on the mobile phone.

The new IGTV app comes with the feature of auto-playing the videos as you open the app which we even saw on Facebook videos. There is no need to search for your favorite celebrity as it shows the videos from people you already follow on Instagram.

One can even share, comment and send videos to your friends via DM directly from the IGTV app. Looks like after debacle of Facebook Video we have another video streaming app to give tough competition for YouTube as it might have a huge list of top celebrities but lack of content right now.

The new service IGTV anyone can become channel creator and directly share videos from mobile and computer simultaneously.IGTV will be rolling out globally over the next few weeks on Android and iOS. The sad fact is that if you don’t have verified tick then you can upload videos only up to 15s to 10 min with file size up to 650MB. All the video which you share must have a minimum aspect ratio of 4:5 and maximum of 9:16. For uploading videos from computer, one has to visit Instagram.com and upload the video.
