As per the report, Samsung has cancelled the under display fingerprint scanner due to technical issues Samsung is unable to commercialise the feature due to which it might get delayed to late summer or early fall of this year.Samsung is not keen on partnering with third-party manufacturers like Synaptics for the under display fingerprint tech instead they are already developed their own version of the optical fingerprint scanner.

Further, the reports also claim that Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will rely on the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner over the under display fingerprint scanner. As per sources, Samsung is unable to operate the fingerprint scanner under the display due to which it will be delayed and we can expect the feature to be arriving with Samsung Galaxy S10 in 2019.
