Finally, Qualcomm revealed the details of the next flagship SoC for 2018 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 in Qualcomm Tech Summit held at Maui.Qualcomm is now focusing on AI-based chips as many of the competitors had already launched many SoC which comes with dedicated processor for AI.The SD845 chip comes with the third generation of AI Chip with 3x time improvement than the predecessor.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is manufactured on the same 10nm FinFET LPP process and comes with 8-cores of Kyro 385 CPU cores which are divided into two clusters.The high-performance quad-core cluster is clocked at 2.8 GHz and power efficient quad-core is clocked at 1.8 GHz.Now the SD845 chip is coupled with new Adreno 630 GPU when compared with Adreno 540 GPU on SD835 chip which promises to give better gaming experience than the predecessor. It also comes with support for latest LPDDR4 RAM.The New Adreno 630 comes with 6DoF with SLAM for features like well collision detection

The SD845 chip comes with latest Qualcomm X20 Modem which is 5G-enabled modem as Qualcomm expects that 5G will be a reality by end of 2019.The new Snapdragon X20 Modem has download speeds up to 1.2Gbps and comes with 4*4 MIMOand 5*20 MHz carrier aggregation.So in simple language, the SD845 chip will be 5G ready SoC.It will also feature Dual SIM VoLTE and Citizen Broadband Radio Service shared radio spectrum for better carrier networks.

The SD845 SoC has support for Dual cameras up to 25MP on both front and back of the device.SD845 will have support for Dual cameras on both rears as well as selfie Dual camera.Huawei has already launched many devices with quad cameras earlier and we can expect quad-cameras in the future so now SD845 comes with support for Quad cameras.The SD845 chip will also support the 4K UHD recording with HDR10 support.So with SD845 one can take the advantage and record Hollywood Quality videos as per Qualcomm.The SD845 will come with new improved DSP (Digital signal Processor) with better video and audio processing.

So SD845 will be powering most of the premium flagship next year with Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, Xiaomi Mi7 and others.
