After the leaks and rumors of the Andy Rubin’s Essential smartphone, now we have the official launch of the Essential Smartphone in US for the price tag of $700 for unlocked variant and if you pay $750 then you will get 360 degree camera bundle with the smartphone.The Essentials Phone will be available in four colour options with Stellar Grey, Black Moon,Pure White and Ocean Depth.With that Andy Rubin even launched the company named as Essentials.
Essential phone or PH-1 is made out of titanium frame which is tough and will not get scratches easily and is also not easily bendable,with an ceramic back protected with Corning Gorilla Glas 5 both back and front of the device.It is 71.1 mm wide and weighs 185 grams.
Essential phone or PH-1 is having an 5.71 inch QHD bezel less display with an aspect ratio of 19:10, which is wider than 16:9 but not wider than LG G6 or Samsung Galaxy S8 Duo.It comes with LTPS LCD display and promises 500nits of brightness.
Essential Phone has 13MP rear dual camera setup with aperture of f/1.85. The rear camera has one RGB sensor and one Monochrome Sensor.It has 13MP True Monochrome mode.It also has Contrast, IR Laser AF and PDAF.The rear camera can record videos up to 4K @ 30fps.
The selfie camera is of 8MP with 16:9 aspect ratio and as aperture of f/2.2 with fixed hyperfocal lens.Even the front camera can record videos up to 4K @ 30fps which is a plus point for selfie lovers. That’s not all there is a separate 360 degree camera accessory which attaches the smartphone using the two magnetic docks placed beside the camera at the back.The 360 degree camera has dual 12MP sensor behind fisheye lens (210 degree) and has 4 mics for better audio recording.It can record 360 degree videos up to 4K @ 30fps.
The Essential Phone is powered by SD 835 with 4GB RAM and 128GB on board storage.It is fueled by 3040 mAh battery with fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE,Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0 LE,NFC,USB Type-C port at bottom & GPS.Please note there is no 3.5 mm audio port. It has 4 mics and also has Stereo speakers.I has fingerprint sensor at the back of the smartphone.It runs Android 7 out of the box with some customisation done by company.
The Essential Phone is available for registration only in US and will go on sale soon, as of now there is no details when will it start selling.
There is no details regarding India or Global launch, so hope Andy Rubin launch it globally.
