The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, Samsung’s first attempt at a triple-folding smartphone, is reportedly launching in Korea soon. While early leaks suggested an especially steep price, a recent report hints that it could hit the market at a slightly less intimidating cost, though it is still not what you’d call affordable.

A Korean tech reporter, yeux1122, claims the Galaxy Z TriFold will launch at around 3.6 million won (roughly $2,447), surprising many who were bracing for its launch at closer to 4 million won (about $2,720)—the number previously circulating in the rumour mill. If these numbers are accurate, Samsung might be aiming to stay a little more competitive with its price tag, at least compared to expectations.

It appears Samsung will sell the Galaxy Z TriFold in a single configuration, both for color and storage, with the device reportedly being available exclusively through Samsung’s own sales channels in Korea.

Specs-wise, the Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to deliver a 10-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer cover screen. Camera enthusiasts might be interested in its 200-megapixel main rear camera, and power users will appreciate the 5,437mAh battery.

As a reminder of how this new foldable compares, current models like the Galaxy Z Fold7 are listed in the U.S. at $1,399.99 for both the 256GB and 512GB models, which shows just how premium the upcoming TriFold will be positioned.

There’s no official confirmation of an international release or any additional details just yet. But if Samsung does succeed in pricing the TriFold below expectations, it could shake up the competitive foldable market, especially against rivals like Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate series, which goes even pricier.
