Those who were looking for a sensor update for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 200MP primary camera were recently let down by Ice Universe. The leaker claims that a significant improvement is still on the horizon.

The ISOCELL HP2 1/1.3″ sensor that Samsung has been utilising since the S23 Ultra will be used in the S26 Ultra. Therefore, no Sony 1.1″ 200MP sensor. However, according to Ice, Samsung plans to enhance the lens by adding a wider f/1.4 aperture. Compared to the S25 Ultra’s f/1.7 lens, this would allow 47% more light to reach the sensor.

For daytime photography, an f/1.4 aperture would not be ideal, but there is already a workaround for that. Do you recall when specific Galaxy S models featured two apertures? With the ability to choose between f/1.5 and f/2.4, the Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ were the last to have this capability.

Samsung is thinking about bringing this function back, according to The Cat. We now see why it would be essential to restore this functionality. It’s unclear, though, if this refers to a variable aperture, as we’ve seen from other brands, or a dual aperture, meaning there are two settings and nothing in between.

It is anticipated that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and One UI 8.5, a larger screen, a larger battery that can charge more quickly, and several camera enhancements, such as a new telephoto module.
