The vanilla Pixel 10 has been depicted in several official-looking leaked renders today in anticipation of Google’s upcoming event on August 20th, which will unveil the Pixel 10 family.
These display the four colours—Obsidian, Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello—that the phone is rumoured to come in. Interestingly, if these are all the colours as the renders’ source suggests, the Pixel 10 no longer has porcelain, which is Google’s term for white.
Google has long used the term “obsidian” to describe a dark grey or black colour; “indigo” to describe a royal blue; “frozen” to describe a very faint blue tint on a silver-ish basis; and “limoncello,” which follows naturally from its name, to define a yellow-green tone.
The Pixel 10’s primary improvement over its predecessor from the previous year is the inclusion of a third camera, a telephoto. However, earlier reports have stated that this will result in the other two cameras being somewhat reduced, most likely to maintain the same price or increase the appeal of the Pro models to consumers.
The Pixel 10 will have three cameras: a 48 MP primary, a 12 MP ultrawide, and a 10.8 MP telephoto. According to reports, the telephoto lens is the same one found in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and the primary sensor is the same as the one used in the mid-range Pixel 9a.
Pixel 10 Pro:
In a brief video posted on the Google Store webpage, Google gives us our first official look at the Pixel 10 series, which will go on sale on August 20. Essentially, we are verifying that the Pixel 10 event on August 20 is, in fact, for the device, as we had anticipated.
The video first displays a silhouette of the number “10,” followed by a silhouette of the Pixel 10 Pro, most likely in the newly rumoured Jade or Moonstone colour. Regretfully, there isn’t much else in the video.
Thankfully, we released official renders of the Pixel 10 in all four colours earlier today. That’s Obsidian, Frost, Indigo, and Limencello. Furthermore, it’s not a terrible thing because the design is essentially the same as the Pixel 9 series from the previous year. Google should surely hang onto the fantastic look of the Pixel 9 for a few years.
The Tensor G5 SoC will power the Pixel 10, just like the other family members. August 20 is anticipated to be the start of pre-orders, while August 28 is the expected release date.
