The thinnest foldable is the official Honor Magic V5! Honor didn’t cut corners on upgrades, but it did forego the V4.

Design:

It’s not a bad thing that the Magic V5 and its predecessor share many visual similarities. But if you look more closely, you can see that the frame has been flattened, ostensibly for handling.

Although the V3 was already a remarkable gadget, the Magic V5 offers numerous enhancements. It has superior weather protection, is lighter, and is thinner. The Magic V5 is only 8.8 mm thick when folded. Depending on the colour you choose, it weighs only 217g or 222g and unfolds to 4.1mm or 4.2mm. Ivory White is the lightest and slimmest colour, while Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown have the highest weights.

A sturdy steel Luban Suspension Hinge, tested for 500,000 folds, is one of its key features. A carbon fibre backplate and two layers of aerospace-grade fibre reinforce the frame, giving it flexibility and a 40-fold increase in impact resistance.

Specs:

HONOR Magic V5 will sport a 7.95″ QHD+ (2344x2156p) LTPO OLED main screen, whereas there is a 6.43″ FHD+ (2376×1060) OLED external screen. Both display comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. The device also supports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The outer screen is protected by Giant Rhino Glass, whereas the internal screen is with Glory King Kong flexible armour.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC powers the HONOR Magic V5, paired with 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The device features triple rear cameras, accompanied by an LED flash.

The HONOR Magic V3 features a 50MP Wide Main Camera with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/2.0. It is coupled with a 50MP ultra-wide f/2.2 camera. Lastly, there is a 64MP Periscope Telephoto Camera with 3x Optical Zoom, 100x Digital Zoom, and OIS.

Further, the device features dual selfie cameras with a 20MP outer and inner display. It comes with Dual Stereo Speakers with DTS:X Ultra sound effects and IP58 and IP59-rated dust & water-resistant.

The connectivity options include Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and 5G (Dual-Mode support), A-GPS, GPS, GLONASS, dual-band Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 7), Bluetooth 5, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It packs a massive 6100 mAh battery with 66W fast wired & 50W wireless charging support. The Honor Magic V5 runs on Android 15 with Magic UI 9.0 on top.
