Oppo is expected to introduce the upcoming Oppo Find X9 series of smartphones as early as September of this year. According to a recent leak from tipster Digital Chat Station, the Samsung HP5 sensor for the Find X9 Pro’s periscope camera will be the first smartphone in the world. Please take a look at the information he provided.

The leak claims that the Samsung HP5 periscope sensor has a resolution of 200 megapixels, a pixel size of 0.5 μm, a 1/1.56-inch sensor size, and is constructed on a 28 nm process. The HP5 is still a mighty sensor, even though it is marginally smaller than the HP9 sensor in terms of individual pixel and sensor size (the HP9 is 1/1.4-inch with 0.56μm pixels).

DCG-HDR technology, which the Samsung HP5 supports, should improve low-light performance and dynamic range. Additionally, the leak indicates that a triple-camera configuration consisting of 50MP primary, 50MP ultra-wide and 200MP (periscope, Samsung HP5) sensors is being used to test the Find X9 Pro.

This leak confirms once more that the X9 Pro will not have a dual periscope camera like its predecessor. According to the tipster, the telephoto may not perform as well as a dual periscope setup, but the image quality is still good at 10X zoom.
