The Geekbench and Bluetooth SIG databases reveal Samsung is preparing two budget-friendly phones for late 2025. In the Galaxy A17 4G, model SM-A175F, MediaTek Helio G99 is used, which has two 2GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. According to the Geekbench listing, it’s the same chip as the Galaxy A16 and A15.

Though the phone is still in development and has months of optimisation ahead, it might not be enough to deliver a noticeable performance boost. Another surprise in the OS version is that the Galaxy A17 (4G) is being tested on Android 15 (One UI 7.0), while One UI 8 will debut with 7th-generation foldables in June or July.

A 5G variant powered by an Exynos or MediaTek Dimensity chip is also expected. The A16 launched both 4G and 5G versions last October.
