Apple announced its next big iteration of iOS with the new iOS 15 today at the annual WWDC. The new iOS doesn’t bring any major changes in terms of UI but gets some improvements and new features that make the OS faster. Apple iOS 15 is available to developers today with a public beta coming next month. The final update will hit the iPhone by this fall.
So what are you waiting for let us start with some new features added to the new iOS 15?
Live Text:
The new Live Text is nothing but an Apple version of the Google Lens which was introduced way back on Android. One can select and copy the text transcribed from the images that you have either downloaded from the web, camera, or gallery. Not just that it could also auto-detect the address and open them on the map or phones makes a call through dialer. This app works in 7 languages worldwide and will come to both iOS 15 & iPadOS 15.
Siri has also got an upgrade with a new feature called Siri Knowledge that recognizes items and landmarks in your gallery.
Apple Maps:
The next update is for the new Apple Maps which now comes with more detailed maps in select cities as well as AR directions and 3D layered paths for walking navigation. The new AR direction is supported in 8-countries which create a visualization of the Buildings, new road colors, a new nighttime mode, and more
Transit Navigation will now work with Apple Watch that will show the next steps in the journey.
Apple Wallet:
The new Apple Wallet gets support for new types of keys, like House and hotel room keys. Apple has partnered with Hyatt Hotels, letting Apple Wallet store a hotel key and uses it to input a space. The Hotel could choose when to activate the key.
Apple Wallet also has the ability to add UWB technology to work with smart auto keys – automatically unlocking a car that is supported and letting it start without the need to take the iPhone out.
In the end, users in confirmed US states are going to be able to add their Identity Card to Wallet and utilize them to pass certain security checkpoints, for example at an airport.
Notifications:
The new iOS 15 also brings some much-needed features in Notifications along with a completely redesigned UI. The appearance of alarms will probably be tweaked for better visibility like a larger contact icon and iOS notifications will probably be more granular. It’s possible to place”Focus” profiles that filter the priority alarms while you’re working, as an example.
It also gets a new Notification Summary that shows a single tile rather than a long string of missed notifications. Lastly, iMessage in case your buddy’s phone is set to DND. You will still be able to force a telling to come through (though quietly ) if it is an urgent issue.
iMessages:
iMessage sees minor changes. The way that you see shared pictures will probably change to a stack of photos. You can swipe the photos right from the trailer without having them take up the whole screen. But if you expand them to grid view you can quickly leave a reaction to individual photographs.
Shared videos and links in group chats have their own tab in the News app. This way, content that friends wanted to show you don’t get lost from the group conversation, and the News app will remind one who shared it.
FaceTime:
Apple has spent the most time beefing up FaceTime by enhancing the experience and adding new capabilities. Spatial audio is coming to FaceTime, and that means you’ll be able to listen to the recipients in the management of your Apple apparatus when you’re utilizing compatible AirPods headphones. Sound quality will be enhanced for clearer voice sound, and background noise reduction should help you concentrate better on the person talking.
The spatial sound was showcased working with a set FaceTime call, and every friend will sound like they are coming from a different direction, to make for a more immersive video call. There’s also a fresh Grid View to get FaceTime that shows all the participants on the telephone.
Just like Google Meet and Zoom, you can now create FaceTime Links and share that when there is SharePlay. This permits you to use to listen to or watch content along with other FaceTime participants. with buddies on iOS or Android. You can use more than one device so it is possible to take the FaceTime call from your phone and watch the content on an Apple TV.
