Realme GT 8 series is set to launch in China next week, and it will be the brand’s first phone with custom Ricoh Imaging tuning. Realme will also offer modular customisation options, with interchangeable camera modules for the housing, in addition to the fancy camera hardware.

The housing or deco of the camera contains two Torx screws that hold the module in place. You may be able to snap the housing into place using magnets, then attach the two screws to secure it. With varying material finishes and colours, Realme will offer square, round, and robot styles.
Whether Realme will manufacture these camera housings exclusively or if third-party makers will also participate remains to be seen. Additionally, we wonder whether this modular approach will make repairs easier.
Realme also revealed a new paper-like recycled-leather back for the GT 8 Pro, along with an interchangeable camera deco. According to reports, the material is wear- and corrosion-resistant and only 0.02mm thick.
