Early rumours suggest that OnePlus is working on a significant display technology project ahead of the launch of its next flagship, the OnePlus 15. This October, the phone is anticipated to appear in China. A new, more affordable Ace 6 and perhaps even a new “Turbo” series are also in the works.

The OnePlus 15 will be the first to employ BOE’s newest Oriental X3 screen, according to Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station. If that sounds familiar, it’s because the OnePlus 13’s X2 screen, which debuted last year, earned DisplayMate’s highest grade of A++. According to reports, BOE intends to make the display official before the phone’s release, similar to what it did before the OnePlus 13 was shown, and the X3 is expected to push things even farther.

Previous sources indicate that the OnePlus 15 would have a 6.78-inch screen with a refresh rate of 165 Hz, which is quicker than the OnePlus 13’s 120 Hz panel. This year, the resolution is reportedly going to dip from 2K to 1.5K.

The phone is expected to include a massive 7,000mAh battery with 120W wired charging and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 CPU under the hood. According to reports, the device will soon undergo design changes that will give it a different appearance from its predecessors.
